(The Center Square) – The Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia paused the election interference case against Donald Trump until it can review a lower court’s ruling that allowed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to stay on the case.
The Georgia appeals court agreed to take the case in May. Trump’s defense team had argued that Willis should be removed from their case because of a romantic relationship between Willis and lead prosecutor Nathan Wade. Judge Scott McAfee had said Willis could remain on the case if Wade was removed. Wade then resigned.
The Associated Press reported that the oral argument is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 4 and the appeals court would have until mid-March 2025 to make a ruling.
“The Georgia Court of Appeals has properly stayed all proceedings against President Trump in the trial court pending its decision on our interlocutory appeal which argues the case should be dismissed and Fulton County DA Willis should be disqualified for her misconduct,” Trump’s attorney, Steve Sadow, posted on X.
A Fulton County grand jury indicted Trump and 18 on charges he tried to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump pleaded not guilty.

The original slogan Coke came up with in 1923 read, “Pause and refresh yourself,” with a second line that read, “Our nation is the busiest in earth. From breakfast to dinner there’s no end of work.” Perceived as too negative, in 1929 Woodruff changed the slogan to, “The pause that refreshes”
Me thinks there is plenty of Coke involved in this corrupt Fani gone south lovebird passion relationship, but not the Cola kind.
Let’s hope this pause refreshes our memories of what real Justice is suppoed to look like.
